Number of years serving as a caddie at Cantigny:
This will be 13th season of service as a caddie (if Mike Greene still lets me come out)

While working as a caddie you had a seasonal job here. What department or departments did you work in and for how long?
I worked two years at bag drop, two years in the Golf Shop, and two years interning with Val Chaggaris (golf events).

After serving as a caddie and a seasonal employee, what would you say you gained by being connected with Cantigny Golf and the McCormick Foundation?
Cantigny benefited me in so many ways beyond the monetary compensation over the years. I formed great relationships not only with fellow employees but also with our loyal customers. It was a great environment that fostered maturity at a young age and connected me with people I otherwise never would have met. Cantigny helped me develop a great work ethic, a true understanding of customer service, and the importance of building relationships.

Can you look back on your Cantigny experience and draw any links to your current success? If so, please describe:
The confidence I gained as a caddie interacting with a variety of different people is invaluable to the current position I am in, due largely to the level of professionalism we were taught. The customer service we displayed as employees has been a direct transfer to my current role where we look for any way to help the customer experience with my bank. Also, in dealing with many small business owners and directors of charities from the golf events position, I have been able to translate this to my current role as we seek to meet the business needs of our clients.

How would you answer a young person if they came to you seeking counsel on how to get involved with Cantigny and the attributes necessary for success:
I have and will continue to encourage young people to get involved with our caddie program. Success is derived from a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of something great. A persistent spirit, dedication to the program, and the experience gained from loops open up other opportunities. This is not an easy job, but it is extremely rewarding.
